FAQs

My doors keep opening and closing in the rain, can you help?
Yes of course, If it is an automatic door please check there are no rain droplets on the sensors or rain on the sensors? If yes, then clean off the water, do they work correctly now. If water can get onto the sensors then you will need to have product specific weatherhoods fitted which will eliminate this fault going forward, call us now to arrange a free site survey.

If you have checked and still not operating, then request an engineer here

Can I use BH doors if I have a service contract with another company?
Yes of course we have a fixed call out rate that includes the first hour on site, travelling time and mileage so there are no hidden costs.

It is very common within the industry to sell service contracts at a loss to gain the business but operationally the company cannot provide the level of service that you the customer requires.

An example is we always receive call outs on a Friday afternoon where the preferred contractor cannot attend until Monday, which in our opinion is not acceptable as the building needs to be operational and secured at the end of the day. We understand that service is the key to any business as all doors need to work correctly, safely and at all times for your business to operate.

This is why we cover areas where our engineers are based to allow us to provide that level of service you require, please call us.

My current contractor has told me the automatic door operator needs replacing as original is obsolete, can you help?
Yes of course, we have accounts with all of the manufacturers and distributors as we are independent, which means that we may be able to source parts which others may find impossible. We pride ourselves on repairing doors rather than selling new.

Also, within BH doors we have a lot of experience with all of the manufacturer’s equipment so the issue may just be a fault which we could rectify or replace service items on a call out or provide a quotation.

Can you fix my door on a call out?
We offer a fixed call out rate which includes the first hour on site, travel time and mileage as generally we either repair within that time or it will require additional works / spare parts to which we will provide a quotation.

Common spare parts are on our engineer’s vans specifically for DDA accessible doors, automatic doors, aluminium doors including batteries, pivots, hinges and closers.
