Automatic Swing Door Installation At The John Radcliffe Hospital Oxford

Following an installation of a brand new £2 million MRI scanner, we were contacted on Tuesday by a company called Apollo Building services who had built the new room for the scanner. To enable this scanner to be located within the room the lead lined entrance doors were removed with the operators to make more space.

After the scanner was installed, the doors and operators were reinstalled but they couldn’t get the operators working or the doors locking. This was a major problem as this was stopping the new scanner being used as people can’t enter room while scanner is running.

We were recommended to them by Oxford NHS foundation trust and provided a same day emergency call out which Ed attended. There was a fault with one of Geze EMD operators and suggested an option of replacing operators with Record DFA127s which we had in stock and the job could be completed on Thursday within 48 hours. The customer decided to go ahead with our recommendation as we were able to reuse the existing Safety Sensors and Push Pads.

The doors also have integral electric locking so that persons cannot enter when the scanner is in use and the Record DFA127 provided a seamless integration. This would also save time and money to allow the MRI Scanner to be in use as quick as possible. The installation was commissioned, tested and approved by the Hospital who were really pleased we came up with solution so quickly and the facility was up and running on Friday.
