The White Horse Tennis and Leisure Club has a service contract agreement which includes 2 visits per year and we include a specific schedule of works. This details such items as inspecting floor guides, rollers, track, adjusting drive belts and where any of these are worn or damaged a quotation will be raised for replacement. If it is an automatic door please check the following –
- Is it in the correct setting, i.e. auto / 2 way?
- If you change the setting to closed, does it close?
- Is there an error code or sequence of flashing lights on the display?
- Is the power on?
- Walk to the door and do the sensors above you light up?
- Is there anything in the doorway to stop them closing?

Can I use you without a service contract agreement?
For automatic doors as an example the minimum for compliance to BSEN16005 and BS7036 2014 is once per year and a risk assessment checklist document issued. The manufacturers may specify when service parts are replaced due to the amount of operations, so you may need to increase the amount of service visits and replacement of parts to ensure the safe and continued operation.
For Fire escapes for compliance to BS9999 and your building insurance they need to be tested, serviced and inspected at least twice per year with a checklist document issued.
