Timber door repairs at Wentworth Golf Club, Virginia Waters, Surrey

On our survey we were asked to provide a quotation to repair various Timber doors throughout the main building and Health Club.

After a discussion with the client, it was agreed that the work had to be carried out at night after everything had closed at 10pm.

A quotation was raised for the customer which detailed the schedule of works and provisional dates for the work to be carried out.

We started at the Club House main entrance where an inner door was closing dangerously as the Geze floor spring had failed. This required removal of the door and all of the mechanical parts.

We at BH Doors always replace all of the door parts when carrying out a repair to ensure no further works and the door is bought back to as new condition.

This required removal of the door to allow us to replace the parts, so we carried out a risk assessment and deployed our yellow men barriers to designate a safe working area.

When we remove a door, it is important to firstly clean the door to be able to inspect it thoroughly for any damage or faults.

Following this the parts were replaced and the door rehung.

Cleaning Removed Door

On our next visit we worked in the Health Club where there were various repairs and issues where doors were –

  • binding on the floor
  • closing
  • locking
  • sealing
  • opening to 90 degrees

All of these were carried out over the following 2 nights and on completion we walked around with the Facilities Manager to check all of the doors and to hand over our checklist documentation for signing off. All of our documents are electronic and can be sent via e mail to ensure a quick communication and ease of storage for reference purposes.
