Glass Sliding Door Repair – Courtyard by Marriot Hotel, Abingdon

We were called to the Courtyard by Marriot Hotel, Abingdon, Oxfordshire as they could not move one of the glass sliding doors in the restaurant and lounge area.

We attended site and found that it was difficult to open and close the system as bottom rollers were damaged causing the door to drag on the floor. We provided a quotation to return to site with replacement parts at a more convenient time after breakfast had finished.

We returned to site on the agreed date and when we arrived on site, we designated a safe working area by deploying our yellow safety barriers.

We had to open the system fully to remove the faulty sliding door to be able to expose the internal mechanism and replace the rollers.

On completion the system was fully tested, including the lock and then we cleaned the track. Finally, we cleaned the glass and demonstrated the system to the customer.

We also offer service contract agreements which include preventative maintenance to give you piece of mind at the fraction of the cost of a major component failure to keep your business operational and compliant.

Regular service and maintenance visits will maximise the life of your movable walls or sliding partitions and save you the inconvenience and unwanted expense of installing replacement systems.

Particularly we have a specific schedule of work we carry out to ensure that the system seals correctly, the panels move easily and keep your doors in alignment.

FAQs

My glass sliding door has dropped, can you help?
Yes of course, this is very common problem as many systems are top hung with the panels on rollers which take the weight of the panel. It may be due to the roller assembly self-adjusting causing the door to drop.

This could be a simple realignment issue which generally we would carry out during a fixed cost call out or within a service contract agreement.

When I operate the key, the lock does not engage, can you help?
Yes of course, many issues with locking of the panels are due to the panel alignment as there is not the correct distance for the lock to engage. This means that if this distance is too great then as you turn the key and lift the handle it will not throw easily and if you continue to operate the internal mechanism with break.

We recommend, that if a panel has become harder to operate, to request an engineer as soon as possible as to realign a panel is quicker, easier and less costly that repairing the internal mechanism.

If you are experiencing this call us now, we could possibly rectify this within our fixed call out rate.

It is difficult to move my panels on my sliding glass system, can you help?

  • The rollers are not worn
  • The tracks are clean and free of debris
  • All fixings are secure
  • All panels are correctly aligned with each other, the track and floor
  • All locks are fully retracted
