Emergency Security Door Repair at Trinity Court, Oxford
We were asked to attend an emergency call out to look at the main entrance security door at Trinity Court, Oxford.
On initial inspection we found that the door was not closing correctly and locking causing a security issue as the building was unlocked. This would also mean that the access control system had failed and the alarm could not be set as it also relied on the door being closed correctly.
Upon further inspection we found that the reason for the door not closing was that the top drive arm was badly worn.
As we carry common spare parts on our vans, we could replace the arm immediately and return the door to its full working order.
This required removal of the door to allow us to replace the part, so we carried out a risk assessment and deployed our yellow men barriers to designate a safe working area.
We refitted the door and checked the alignment with the maglock and alarm contacts, adjusting where necessary. The door closer was tested for opening and closing, adjusting the transom closer door for a smooth closing action. Finally, we cleaned the door, glass and frame completing the repair and provided documentation as all of our work comes with a 12 months guarantee.
We also provided the customer with a proposal for a service contract agreement to ensure long-term reliability and to reduce failures of the aluminium door.
