Dorma Automatic Swing Door installation at ProImmune Biotechnology in Eynsham, Oxfordshire

ProImmune Biotechnology in Eynsham, Oxfordshire requested we automated a new pair of aluminium doors. The purpose of this adaption and installation was to create a new entrance into a recently refurbished part of the building.

The aims were to –

  • provide easier access for all without the need to touch the door
  • allow easier deliveries for items on pallets
  • to provide a means of escape in an emergency
  • interface into the existing access control system and electric locking as this is part of the security of the building

The installation comprised of a Dorma Ed250 swing operators activated by the access control system to enter and exit the building. We select products that will allow integration with your existing access control, fire alarm and locking, to minimise disruption, not to compromise security and save money.  The key is to survey and understand your requirements prior to quotation and installation.

It is important that all installations of automatic doors have any risks designed out or any residual risks reduced to a safe level. So, we installed BEA Flatscan on door safety sensors installed to both sides of the door to reduce the risk of the door opening or closing onto a person within the sweep area of the door. Also, on some of the external doors, barriers were installed to direct the flow of traffic and eliminate the risk of a person walking into an opening door. On completion, the installation is subject to a risk Assessment Checklist as part of compliance to EN16005 and BS7036.
