Automatic Swing Operator And Aluminium Door Installation At Little Paxton Surgery, Peterborough

The existing Tormax bi-fold system was at its end of life with no spares available so Little Paxton Surgery were looking for an alternative solution for the main entrance. Following an initial survey, we provided a quotation for an aluminium door set with integral DormaKaba swing operator colour matched to the exiting windows and doors.

As this is also the DDA accessible entrance the new system needed to be compliant to give wheelchair access with touchless and contactless activation. There are 2 door leaves, one which is fixed, but can be unlocked to use the full opening. The other has a Dorma ED100 swing operator with radar motion sensors which will activate the door when a person approaches. On the door leaf are BEA 4Safe safety sensors to eliminate the risk of impact and crushing if a person was within the sweep area of the door when it is opening or closing.

The installation was carried out during one day to minimise the inconvenience to the Surgery as patients could use an alternative entrance, so the following day it could be used. On completion and commissioning, we trained the staff on how to use the automatic door system, locking and unlocking as well as and what to if there was an issue.
