Automatic Sliding Door Repair Weston Library – Oxford

Following our recent same day response emergency call out, we found that the main rollers of the Geze sliding door were damaged causing the door to stop working and stand open.

Always when we carry out any work, we deploy or yellow health and safety barriers to designate a safe working area. Particularly here as this door was on the main entrance with a café situated adjacent to the door.

As we keep common parts for Geze automatic door systems at our Oxford location, we returned with replacements. On this particular track the door is suspended by a carrier system which has 2 roller sets.

Only 1 set was damaged, but we always replace both as potential stress may have occurred to the other which could then fail at any point. So, to ensure long term reliability and potential cost savings and failures both were changed.

On completion of the repair the door system was:

  • cleaned including the cover
  • tested in all operational modes
  • demonstrated to the security team
  • left in full working order

We also offer service contract agreements, which are a fixed cost per visit and is based upon the amount and type of doors within your building. We always arrange with the customer the most convenient date to reduce the disputation as generally the automatic doors are on the main entrance to a building. 

We have a specific schedule of works we carry out for each different door type which is detailed within our servicing. We have used our experience, the manufacturers service specifications and legislation compliance to adopt these procedures for every customer and service contract we offer.

Some of these include inspecting all mechanical components and cleaning sensors, etc. This means that the correct amount of time and engineers’ resource is allocated to ensure your doors are safe, reliable and reducing overall costs. Preventative maintenance servicing reduces the failure of equipment. This is backed up with the level of service our customers require as we understand that when a door fails it affects your business and your customers.  

For automatic doors as an example the minimum for compliance to BSEN16005 and BS7036 2014 is once per year and a risk assessment checklist document issued. The manufacturers may specify when service parts are replaced due to the number of operations, so you may need to increase the amount of service visits and replacement of parts to ensure the safe and continued operation.
