Automatic Sliding Door Upgrade – Abbey Leisure Centre, Barking, Essex

We were called to look at a commercial aluminium door on the main entrance at DJ’s Play Park in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.

On initial inspection we found that the door was a concern to the staff and the door had dropped making it difficult to lock and not close.

This required removal of the door to allow us to, so we carried out a risk assessment and deployed our yellow men barriers to designate a safe working area. Once the door was removed it was apparent that the closer arm had snapped.

We gave the customer an on-site quotation as we carry these common parts on our vans, then we replaced the drive arm. The door was reinstalled and checked the alignment with the seals and locks, adjusting where necessary.

The door closer was tested for opening and closing, adjusting the transom closer for a smooth closing action.

Finally, we cleaned the door, glass and frame completing the repair and provided documentation as all of our work comes with a 12 months guarantee.
