Aluminium Door Lock Repair – Pangbourne Village Hall, Berkshire

We were called to look at a pair of aluminium doors on the main entrance of the Village Hall in Pangbourne, Berkshire.

On initial inspection we found that –

• The right door was locked in the closed position and it could not be opened. As these doors are also fire escapes in the event of an emergency, they required repairing as soon as possible.
• The left door had dropped and was not closing fully
• The brush seal between the doors was missing causing a draught

This required removal of the door to allow us to raise the pivot, so we carried out a risk assessment and deployed our yellow men barriers to designate a safe working area. The broken flush bolts were replaced and a new brush seal was installed. The door was refitted, realigned with the frame and all locks tested.

Finally, we cleaned the door, glass and frame completing the repair and provided documentation as all of our work comes with a 12 months guarantee.
