DormaKaba Automatic Swing Door Safety Upgrade – Ipswich Hospital, Suffolk

As part of our service contract with Ipswich Hospital, we provide Preventative maintenance, risk assessments and safety checklists.

These help to ensure that the Hospital complies with the health and safety legislation.

Following on from a service, it was highlighted that the automatic swing doors required external barriers to eliminate the risk to persons passing the entrance and walking into the door.

We deployed our yellow safety barriers to designate a safe working area and installed F type barriers powder coated to match the existing doors with a glass infill.

On completion a new safety checklist was carried out so that the customer now had a report confirming that the door now had these risks reduced for their records.

Automatic Swing Doors, either new or often retro fitted onto existing manual doors, are an ideal, efficient and economical method of providing ease of access to your customers and staff.

Designed with a wide range of features, from low energy to high performance environments, BH Doors automatic swing doors can transom your building and ensure accessibility and safety meets the requirements of BS EN:16005 BH Doors are different, we provide repairs to all types of automatic doors regardless of manufacturer.

  • Is there an error code or sequence of flashing lights on the display?

2. Can I use BH Doors without a service contract agreement?
Yes of course, but be aware that your call out / hourly rate will be higher than a contract customer. Also depending on the type of equipment, this may need to be serviced as part of compliance and health and safety legislation, ask us for a free survey and quotation. For automatic doors as an example the minimum for compliance to BSEN16005 and BS7036 2014 is once per year and a risk assessment checklist document issued. The manufacturers may specify when service parts are replaced due to the number of operations, so you may need to increase the amount of service visits and replacement of parts to ensure the safe and continued operation. For Fire escapes for compliance to BS9999 and your building insurance they need to be tested, serviced and inspected at least twice per year with a checklist document issued.
3. After installation, what after care service do you offer and why?
All doors, whether manual or automatic, are complex components subject to punishing wear and tear on a daily basis. Therefore, to ensure that they continue to function properly, regular service and maintenance is imperative. We have a 12 months warranty on all components and work carried out and offer Service Contract Agreements on all types of commercial doors. Also we can provide same day response to emergency calls within Oxfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
