Tormax Automatic Swing Door Repair – Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford

Following an emergency call out to the Blavatnik School of Government for the University of Oxford, we returned to site to remove the door to replace the worn and damaged drive arm causing the door not to open or close correctly.

We deployed our yellow safety barriers to designate a safe working area and removed the door with 4 engineers due to its size and weight. The doors were programmed, tested for correct operation, cleaned and left in working order.

This highlights where BH Doors are different, available to provide quick quotations and understand your business needs.

These are some of the values which get overlooked when customers are looking for a Service Contract Agreement based on the price and never take into account what they really need.

Our ethos is that we care about our customers, have pride in the work we carry out and be accountable at all times.

This is why we understand that anybody in a position of ensuring that a building functions correctly and works to a budget requires fixed costs, agreed call out response times, pre-planned service visits, qualified engineers and health and safety compliance.

Can I use BH Doors without a service contract agreement?

Yes of course, but be aware that your call out / hourly rate will be higher than a contract customer. Also depending on the type of equipment, this may need to be serviced as part of compliance and health and safety legislation, ask us for a free survey and quotation.

For automatic doors as an example the minimum for compliance to BSEN16005 and BS7036 2014 is once per year and a risk assessment checklist document issued. The manufacturers may specify when service parts are replaced due to the number of operations, so you may need to increase the amount of service visits and replacement of parts to ensure the safe and continued operation.

For Fire escapes for compliance to BS9999 and your building insurance they need to be tested, serviced and inspected at least twice per year with a checklist document issued.

After installation, what after care service do you offer and why?

All doors, whether manual or automatic, are complex components subject to punishing wear and tear on a daily basis. Therefore, to ensure that they continue to function properly, regular service and maintenance is imperative. We have a 12 months warranty on all components and work carried out and offer Service Contract Agreements on all types of commercial doors.

Also, we can provide same day response to emergency calls within Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Suffolk, but if you are in adjoining counties, please call us.
