Automatic Sliding Door Emergency Repair – Flooring Superstore, Oxford

Following our an enquiry from the Flooring Superstore in Oxford, Oxfordshire, we attended an emergency call out and found that the automatic sliding door was standing open.

Always when we carry out any work, we deploy or yellow health and safety barriers to designate a safe working area. Particularly here as this door was on the main entrance and if possible, still regain access to the Store.

Upon further investigation we found that the operator had no power. We started by checking the output from the fused spur which was ok, then gained access to the internal components by raising the cover.

It was apparent that the control board fuse had blown, so we removed all outputs and checked the door mechanically so that it would slide smoothly open and close to check the motor.

Then we replaced the fuse, but it blew immediately indicating that there was a major fault with the control board. The door was isolated, the fuse removed and left to be used as a manual sliding door.

A quotation was raised that day for the customer to authorise and the sliding door system was cleaned.

We also offer service contract agreements, which are a fixed cost per visit and is based upon the amount and type of doors within your building. We always arrange with the customer the most convenient date to reduce the disputation as generally the automatic doors are on the main entrance to a building.
